Something Old and Something New

Let’s start with the something new. One of the supermarket chains around here has a very odd exotic food section. Some of the produce is not exotic at all and appears elsewhere in the store- like pomegranates, Asian pears, and mushrooms. Crisps are a wonderful dessert. The nutty, crunchy toppings are definitely my favorite part, and they’re perfect sprinkled over summer-ripe fruit. Comté and Pear Phyllo Triangles

I don’t think I’ve ever told you how much I love Comté. Comté is a hard, cow’s milk cheese that is made in France. It has a very nutty and mild flavor that is similar to gruyère.
