Heirloom tomatoes are one of the many reasons I love the summer. I turned a beautiful batch of heirlooms into a sweetly concentrated sauce/spread/jam last summer, and I’ve been dying to do it again. Murg Makhani -or- Butter Chicken

Our favorite Indian restaurant in DC is Taj of India in Georgetown. Their murg makhani (chicken in a tomato cream sauce) is absolutely to die for. Homemade Gnocchi

I have wanted to make my own gnocchi for a long time, but I was scared. It seemed like such a daunting and difficult task- especially after seeing Top Chef contestants have their gnocchi massacred by the judges. I couldn’t imagine that mine would be worth eating.
